The Hill Valley Time Machine was built, is owned, operated, and maintained by Denielle & Andrew Wells. It was a true labor of love to construct.

In May of 2010, Andrew purchased a 1983 DeLorean DMC-12 (VIN 16155) from Toby Petersen of DeLorean Service Northwest while living in the Seattle area. The plan was always to turn it into a time machine. Over the years, parts were collected and added. The car served as his daily driver for ten years.

In 2016, Andrew & Denielle met because of a mutual love of their favorite movie franchise: Back to the Future. They attended many fan events and screenings together over the years, and married in April of 2022. Their photo shoot for the wedding was at none other than Doc Brown's 1955 Mansion, The Gamble House (Home - Gamble House)

In December 2024, Andrew & Denielle began to get serious about converting the DeLorean into a full time machine with the help of lead consultant and Time Machine Expert, Bruce Coulombe (Delorean Time Machine) who has constructed well over 75 time machines to date. They also received much help and many parts from the talented (and very patient!) Peter Varrica and Brett Aiken of Time Cobblers (Buy a DeLorean Time Machine)

They worked nearly 100 sessions to complete the conversion. Often inventing new items such as an Arduino sound and lighting control board to create all the visual and audio effects on the time machine. They finally completed it in August of 2026.
